WEEK OF DECEMBER 18 THROUGH DECEMBER 23
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
  • Girls’ basketball traveled to Mesa, Arizona to compete in the Nike Tournament of Champions with a guarantee of four games for their travel troubles.  On Monday the Mustangs took on Millennium High School from Goodyear, Arizona and defeated the Tigers 49-36.  In the quarter-final round on Tuesday, the Mustangs took on the Honeybears of Harpeth Hall High School from Nashville, Tennessee.  Mullen handled the Honey Bears easily, 45-21.  In semi-final action, Mullen took on Park Hill South from Riverside, Missouri.  The Mustangs out paced the Panthers to a 40-37 win.  In the Championship game against the Patriots of Bob Jones High School from Madison, Alabama, Mullen lost 47-41 to take second place in the tournament.
BOYS’ BASKETBALL
  • After catching fire and going 3-0 in their annual Christmas Classic Tournament last week, boys basketball traveled on Thursday to take on the ThunderRidge High School Grizzlies.  Mullen lost 70-54 to drop their overall record to 6-3.  
HOCKEY
  • The hockey team started the week with a trip to the Air force Academy to play the Kadets of Air Academy High School.  The Mustangs won 5-0 to take the home-and-away series from the Kadets by a 13-0 margin.  On Friday they traveled to All World Arena in the Springs to take on Palmer and to close out the 2023 season for Mustangs Athletics.  In a hard-fought game, Mullen came up short 3-2 to drop their overall record to 4-5.  
GIRLS’ SWIM & DIVE
  • Girls’ swim and dive team were the visitors for a dual meet with the Smoky Hill Buffaloes.  Diver Samantha Lengsfeld bettered her previous diving score by more thab 10 points qualifying her for the Leagues A Meet.
BOYS’ WRESTLING
  • Wrestling had no matches this week and will resume their season on January 4th against Overland.
DIVISION I FOOTBALL - NATIONAL SIGNING DAY
  • Mullen had two football players sign their national letters of intent on Wednesday.  Jordan Leslie signed with the Big Green of Dartmouth College and A J Guida signed his letter of intent with the Huskies of Northern Illinois University.
