Benny Rogers, Student-Athlete of the Week

Class:
Sophomore.

Grade-point average:
3.7.

Favorite subject:
Geometry.

High-school sports:
Volleyball (outside hitter) and basketball (guard).

What I’ve done lately:
Helping to lead the Mustangs in their first year of sanctioning in boys volleyball; Coach Maresa Mosca named him player of the game on Senior Night against Cherokee Trail.

Why I attend Mullen:
It’s a great school, it’s Catholic and I take religion pretty seriously, so that helps. It’s good academically and athletically … just a good school in general.

The best thing about my sport:
In basketball, honestly, it’s just the competition in it and the work ethic,  and it’s just a lot of fun as well.

Planned career:
Undecided.

In my immediate future:
I’m working hard at basketball in the summer to try to make the varsity team. I want to get on varsity and be good for the team.
